Abstract

Mental health is an important issue billions of humans struggle with and talk about. Is this an Earth-centered property or found all over the universe? We will explore the etiological generalizability of the cognitive foundation of depression and ask ourselves: If extraterrestrials exist, are they inclined to develop depression, too? Answering this question can reveal essential foundations of mental health issues in humans, but also potential downsides of being a highly complex cognitive agent in the universe.
